Static Pages
When you create a static page, you are creating a separate page that does not contain your posts. You can create as many static pages as you’d like for your blog. To create a static page, on the Wordpress dashboard, click on “Write”, then click on the subtab “Page.” It is on this page that you will create your static page. Type in the title of your page under the “Title” heading. Type in the body of the page under the “Post” heading. As you scroll down, you can set-up options for your static page. If you are using your static page as the front page option, and your theme has a navigation bar in the header, you may run into a bit of trouble here. Most Wordpress themes have a Home page that points to the your main URL. So, if you choose the front page option for your static page, you may have two links in your navigation bar. The only way I know of changing this is to hard code the navigation bar in your “header.php” file. |
